Revenue accounting with Mamo

Automatically sync Mamo transactions to your accounting software

Updated over a week ago

Connect Mamo with your accounting software to automate revenue reconciliation and reduce manual work.

This guide is for accountants, finance managers, and business owners who want Mamo transaction data to sync directly into their accounting platform.

Once connected, Mamo automatically transfers revenue data from your Dashboard to your accounting software, helping reduce manual data entry, minimize errors, and keep financial records accurate.

Supported accounting platforms

Mamo revenue accounting integration currently supports the following platform:

  • Zoho Books

  • Xero

The following platforms will be supported soon:

  • QuickBooks

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365

Connect Mamo to your accounting software

Steps:

  1. From the main menu on the left, go to Accounting > Revenue accounting

  2. Select Connect next to your accounting platform

  3. You’ll be redirected to a secure authentication page

  4. Log in to your accounting software and grant Mamo permission to access the required data

  5. After permissions are granted, you’ll be returned to the Mamo Dashboard

Once the connection is successful, the integration status will show Connected.

If the connection fails, you’ll see an error message in your Dashboard with guidance on how to resolve the issue. Contact Support if the problem persists.

Configuration and mapping

After connecting, you must map Mamo transaction categories to your accounting software's general ledger accounts to ensure data is categorized correctly.

This ensures that revenue data is categorized correctly when it is posted to your accounting software.

Synchronization method

Currently, Mamo revenue accounting syncs are executed via an aggregated daily/weekly journal entry.

General Ledger (GL) account mapping:

You will be prompted to map Mamo's transaction components to the correct GL accounts from your chart of accounts. The mapping interface will feature dropdown menus populated with your GL accounts fetched from your software.

Categories to map

You will need to assign accounts for the following categories:

  • Accounts receivable

  • Sales & revenue: Including Sales and Refunds.

  • Fees: Mamo Processing Fees.

  • Taxes: Liability accounts for Sales Tax/VAT Payable.

Once you save the mapping, the settings are stored and linked to your company ID for future syncs. You can edit these mappings later if your chart of accounts changes.

How revenue data syncing works

Once the integration is configured, Mamo automatically syncs transaction data to your accounting software.

  • Frequency: Data is posted on a daily basis to your accounting software.

  • Aggregation: Mamo aggregates all relevant transactions from that day.

  • Posting: The system constructs a journal entry and posts it to your accounting platform using the saved mappings.

  • Notification: You will receive a notification in your Mamo Dashboard about the status of the sync (success or failure).

Monitor sync activity

You can monitor the status of your revenue accounting integration from the Mamo Dashboard.

Sync history

The Sync history section shows:

  • Each synchronization event

  • The status (for example, Completed or Failed)

  • Additional details about the sync

Error handling

If a sync fails, the Dashboard will display an error message with guidance on how to resolve the issue.

Manage or disconnect the integration

You can update or manage your revenue accounting integration at any time.

Available actions include:

  • Updating your GL mappings

  • Adjusting sync settings

  • Disconnecting the accounting integration

To disconnect the integration, go to Accounting > Revenue accounting and select Disconnect.
