Who is eligible for the Mamo Card?
Mamo Cards are currently available to all of our users, whether you are a registered business or a freelancer.
Verification and activation
To activate your Mamo Card, you’ll need to complete two types of verification:
Verification of your business, its beneficial owners, and directors (if applicable)
Verification of each cardholder
Business verification
The following documents will be accepted to help us verify your business:
Existing business documents:
All existing business documents provided at the time of setting up your Mamo account must be valid and up to date.
Country of birth:
The country of birth of each beneficial owner and director must be present on your business' trade license and/or mentioned in your Memorandum of Association (MOA).
For freelancers, the country of birth should be mentioned on your ID document.
Residential address:
The residential address of each beneficial owner and director of the business.
Beneficial owners and directors must be present on your business' trade license and/or mentioned in your Memorandum of Association (not applicable for freelancers).
Cardholder verification
To verify a cardholder, they'll need to provide a valid mobile number. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number provided to complete verification.
When a new cardholder is added, they'll receive an email prompting them to create their account and verify their phone number. Alternatively, the card user can log in to their dashboard from our website, enter their email, and be prompted to enter their phone number.
Sign up
Log into the dashboard.
Select Cards from the left-hand menu.
Select Sign up for Card.
Enter your business owner's(s') details and business address.
Enter your estimated spend volume per month.
Accept the terms and conditions and select Continue.
How to issue a new Mamo Card
Select Cards from the main menu on the left
Click Cards in the sub-menu
Click on the Issue Card button in the top right corner
Fill in the necessary information as prompted and choose the type of card you wish to create
Configure any spend controls if needed
Click 'Issue Card' to finalize your card creation.
Virtual card vs. physical card
Select the option for a virtual card if you require a digital solution for online and contactless payments.
Select the option for a physical card if you want a tangible card for POS transactions and ATM withdrawals.
Name on card
For registered businesses, all our corporate cards are issued to the company. Each card can be assigned to an individual in your Mamo Dashboard, but the name on the card will always be that of the company it is issued to.
For freelancers, the cards will be issued in the name of the business owner. If there are multiple owners, the cards will be issued in the name of the first owner that we verified.
Activate a Mamo Card
Virtual cards
For a new user: Once Card KYB is approved, create a virtual card immediately. Upload your phone number as the new cardholder, verify it via OTP, and activate the card instantly.
For an existing user: Any additional card issued to the same user is instantly activated.
Physical cards
For a new user: Once Card KYB is approved, create a physical card immediately. Upload your phone number as the new cardholder, verify it via OTP, and provide the address where you would like your card to be delivered.
For an existing user: Any additional card issued to the same user does not require KYC verification.
Once the KYC process is successful and your card is delivered, you can go ahead and activate the card via your Mamo Dashboard.
Card delivery
You can expect delivery of the physical card within a maximum of 3 business days after KYC is completed.
Note: Ensure that your delivery address is correct on your Mamo profile to avoid any delays or issues in receiving your physical card.
You will receive notifications and updates about the delivery of your card via SMS or WhatsApp, so you can stay informed and anticipate its arrival.
