This article explains the types of receipts and invoices you receive from Mamo and how to access them. This information will help you maintain accurate financial records and meet your tax obligations.
Payment receipts
Every time your customer pays you, you'll receive a payment receipt confirming the transaction. This receipt provides a detailed breakdown of the transaction, including:
Amount paid: The total amount your customer paid.
Fees & VAT: A breakdown of the fees charged by Mamo for processing the payment, including the 5% VAT applied to those fees.
Net payment: The final amount deposited into your account after fees and VAT are deducted.
Payment details: Information such as the payment date, description, reference ID, and payment method used.
Customer details: Your customer's name, email address, and phone number (if available)
Downloading payment information
You can download a CSV file of your payment data for easy record-keeping. Here's how:
On your Mamo dashboard, go to Payments
Use the filter icon next to the search bar to filter your transactions by payment status, amount, or date range. This is optional.
Click the download icon located above the payment table on the right side
Tax invoices
Mamo charges a 5% VAT on all fees collected, including transaction fees, dispute fees, and premium fees.
Add your Tax registration number
Before we can send you tax invoices, please make sure you add your Tax registration number (TRN) and business address from Mamo dashboard by going to to Settings > Business details > Tax registration number
Receiving your tax invoice
Every time you receive a settlement, we issue a tax invoice to go along with the settlement details. This tax invoice is sent by email and includes all the transactions related to that settlement, including payments received and the fees and VAT charged on these payments.
In the tax invoice attached to the email, you’ll find the following information:
Settlement amount transferred: The total amount deposited into your account after deducting fees and VAT.
A summary of all transactions included in the settlement.
A detailed breakdown of each transaction, its type, and the associated VAT charges.
💡 Pro tip: For businesses with same-day settlements enabled, we provide the option to issue a consolidated tax invoice every 10 days, instead of daily. This tax invoice then bundles together all the settlements from the last 10 days, to streamline your inbox and simplify submitting your tax returns.
Chat to us from your dashboard to discuss enabling this option for you.
Downloading settlement information
You can download a CSV file of your settlement data for your records. Here's how:
On your Mamo dashboard, go to Finances > Settlements
Click the download icon located above the payment table on the right side
